The surprise visit by three, high-level North
Korean officials to the South on Saturday has everyone wondering what their motive might
have been. Experts on Korean affairs in the U.S. believe
it was an attempt by Pyongyang to step out of its isolation.
Joel Wit of the 38 North website… says the trip bodes well for the future of North-South
relations, but that the motive remains unclear. Bruce Klingner of the Heritage Foundation
said the visit was made in part as an appeal on the international community to lift sanctions.
