TPO Roof System Installation | TPO Roofing Installation | CentiMark

(upbeat music) Hello and thanks for taking the time to view a CentiMark TPO roof installation. Over the next few minutes you’ll be seeing one of our dedicated crews installing the TPO roof. What you’ll also be seeing is the CentiMark difference, outstanding craftsmanship, unparalleled attention to detail and remarkable customer service. Let’s get started with the installation. Prior to placing materials on the roof, rubble roofs are carefully vacuumed to lesson the weight of the roof and to provide a better surface for attaching installation. Materials are carefully distributed over the roof to avoid placing too much stress on any individual area. Our crews greatly appreciate the staging process as it saves them work later by minimizing the handling of materials. Of course, materials are wrapped and covered for protection. After the roof has been prepped and any subpar decking has been replaced we begin installing the insulation. The insulation board is attached using mechanical fasteners in conjunction with a plate. The number of plates and fasteners, along with the patterns used in installation is determined by many factors, including roof height, geography, insurance requirements and more. Notice that the boards are installed in a staggered pattern so there are no large joints or gaps between boards. This ensures a proper substrate for the roofing membrane. It’s time to install the membrane. It is positioned over the insulation board with chalk lines to ensure proper alignment. Once positioned plates are installed at precise increments to mechanically anchor the membrane to the roof. Spacing is dependent on numerous factors. The TPO membrane is welded together as the roof is installed. A robotic welder controls welding speed and the temperature for the hot air being used to weld the seam. As roof surface temperatures change throughout the day we adjust the speed and temperature of the welder. Workmanship and expertise are critical at this juncture of the roof installation. Finally, a probe verifies the validity of each seam. Each linear foot will be probed to make sure the welds have been done properly and are totally secure. Metal edges are made of TPO-cladded material. This allows the TPO membrane to be welded directly to the metal edge, forming a secure edge. Additionally, the metal edge is secured utilizing a staggered fastening pattern to maximize the wind uplift resistance. The membrane is secured at the horizontal base of HVAC units. By securing the membrane we are able to separate the vertical and the horizontal surfaces so the roof membrane can expand and contract, accommodating the vibrations and movements of these units. Walk pads are also welded to the roofing membrane in certain areas. By welding the walk pad to the membrane it secures it in place for the long term. Note the yellow lining that marks the perimeter. There are areas that we must do by hand, vertical to horizontal transitions and small areas like projection flashing. These details will, to a large extent, determine the success of your roof system. If a roof leaks this is where it is most likely to happen. The skill of the applicator is crucial for success and CentiMark’s employees have the expertise and experience to handle the challenge. Some roofing projects are massive and even with CentiMark’s ability to devote large numbers of trained employees to a single project, it may take several days or even weeks to complete a project. What happens at the end of each day? A watertight tie-in is created. The roofing membrane is secured to the existing roof surface utilizing hot asphalt. This is a critical detail that is used to prevent water from entering the building in the event of rain. Thanks for watching our TPO roof installation. We hope you are impressed with the craftsmanship, attention to detail and level of personal service you’ll receive as a CentiMark customer. CentiMark, based on family values, grown on customer service, standing on reputation. (upbeat music)
