Hello everybody. This is the first video of my new series. which will conclude challenges. If you’re more interested in discoveries, glitches and such, click Hammer Bro’s head. This challenge will be done on the Grumble Volcano course.
I have to admit, It’s not very easy even though it might look easy. Okay, let’s do this. This is the race you’re going to do,
but every single lap there is this little requirement. You’re going to take this backwards shortcut on lap 1,
which will make you take the whole turn again. The second lap, there’s also a backwards cut, which will cause the computer’s lead to expand. Finally you’re gonna wanna take this shotcut, which will actually save you time, that’s what pros call “the Lava Glitch”.
This all sounds a little raw and vague, but within 2min I’ll make these requirements more clear. For the rules, you choose the settings I’m showing here. Pay attention on the “Items” setting. It really should be on “Basic” (or “Strategic” for American games) as this makes the challenge a little more challenging.
This is the record of my best attempt. This will show what I mean with the backwards shortcuts and such. This first tip I’ll give you guys is that you probably want to have some mushrooms, as you’ll be needing these for the upcoming backwards shortcut. Staying in the back of the pack is not a problem because you’ll be stuck there for the majority of the race. The compiters are “Hard”, so if they won’t stop knocking you around… That’s normal. What I’m doing right now is not very clever: I’m passing some people and I’m not holding a mushroom.
Normally you don’t get a mushroom in 3rd but I’ve had a LOT of luck there and that’s always good, isn’t it. This is the first shortcut. Keep drifting to the right, to that little hill at the edge of the road Don’t forget to use your mushroom of course. Now you’re driving on the part you’ve already driven on and if you look to the right, there is the tiny “ramp” for your jump to the other side. now you can spam your items to climb some positions. to climb some positions. But make sure you have a mushroom when you’re going to do the second shortcut, the one on the second lap. Of course pay attention to random stuff on the ground or random greens blasting at you, like right here. So holding a spare mushroom has always advantages. We’re approaching the second shortcut.
Basically what you do is jumping from the left route to the right route and completing the circle. Watch out for computers coming at you,
bumping you off when you’re not paying attention. Take right here and you’re back on the track. We’re going into lap 3 and as you can see,
the space between me and computer 1 is not that large. If the first driver is already out of the tunnel when you cross the finish line, you’re likely not going to beat the challenge. The tunnel is the inverted S-part of the track which you can see in the right top corner on the minimap.
The most annoying thing that could ruin your run, is the fact that the computers backspam their stuff. so keep your concentration even in lap 3, and normally it should work out. so keep your concentration even in lap 3, and normally it should work out. We’re approaching the lava glitch now. You drift to the right, again to the little ramp-like hill at the edge of the road to gain enough height. When you hit the wall, you’ve completed the respawn glitch. Be sure to pull a wheelie as this will increase your airtime and chances of succes. Be sure to pull a wheelie as this will increase your airtime and chances of succes. Now you have to complete the race before the computers do. My time is 02:28.606 But… of course you will encounter a lot of issues. For example, while doing the firsdt shortcut, you’ll have to dose your drifting: drifting too sharp causes you to hit the wall, drifting too wide or pulling a wheelie here is not a good option aswell: it will cause you to hit the tree or you’ll fail to complete you’re turn afterwards. you’ll fail to complete you’re turn afterwards. Lap 2. If you’ve raced that fast that the block hasn’t dropped yet, Lap 2. If you’ve raced that fast that the block hasn’t dropped yet, there’s not really a problem. Getting past the huge rock is fairly easy and the track has still its primary width.
If the block has already dropped or is dropping, make sure that you drift sharp enough make sure that you drift sharp enough or else you’re gonna fall into the lava like I’m showing here. This is my challenge. Don’t forget to like if you want some more challenges,
because I still have a lot ideas. Subscribe to stay tuned and see you later guys.
