Magnusmode – Message from the Founder, Nadia Hamilton

My brother Troy has autism and he struggles
with activities that you and I take for granted on a daily basis. Things like brushing teeth or getting dressed
in the morning. He would rely on my parents, or myself to
guide him through step-by-step. When he was growing up I drew out instructions
for things like brushing teeth and I posted them to the walls of our apartment and Troy
would go into the bathroom he’d look above the sink and see step one, get your tooth
brush. So he’d get his toothbrush. Step two, put the toothpaste on the toothbrush. So he’d do that. And this afforded him with the structure and
the confidence that he needed to do it on his own. So when he graduated from high school at the
age of 21, pictures on the walls didn’t cut it anymore. I created Magnusmode to bridge the gap from
the couch to the community, from dependency to independence. And this character of Magnus comes to life. He lives in the app, he guides people like
my brother to do activities on their own giving them positive reinforcement and encouragement
every step of the way. And Troy is not the only one who struggles
with these challenges, there are millions of people worldwide who on a daily basis need
assistance to get through tasks around the home and in the community. Magnus is that guide and the hero that this
community has been waiting for.
