How to Check Your Home for Foundation Problems

Hi, I’m JJ Ebarb, project manager with United
Structural Systems. And today we’ll be talking about the tip of the month. Now that the weather’s warming up, we’re going
to spend some more time outside. So we’re going to talk a little bit about how to notice
signs that there may be a problem with your foundation. We’ve all seen uneven sidewalks and steps
that are pulling away. And while we’re trimming our hedges we may notice a stair-stepping
crack in the corner of our home. Or that the fireplace has rotated away from the roofline
or sank. If you see evidence of that kind of movement
it’s because when the ground gets wet, it swells and heaves. As it dries out, it settles
and compacts. That concrete has very little elasticity, so if it moves, it cracks. We’d be happy to answer any questions that
you may have. Give us a call for a free estimate. We guarantee our best. Call USS.

  1. The two lights in your eyes made them look crazy – even better if they had only 1 highlight in your eyes for this video
